TAMP CULTURE COFFEE – 1 MIN WALK:

Finding great quality and great value accommodation in Reading may be a bit of a challenge but luckily great coffee isn’t! Tamp Coffee Culture is one of our closest neighbours, so you don’t have far to stumble for a fantastic cup of coffee. They started in a kiosk and graduated to a permanent residence due to demand for their fantastic quality coffee and a real passion for the beans. Just ask there many happy punters who continually return for a tasty cup of joe

CUP CAFÉ READING -2 MINS WALK:

CUP Café is yet another close neighbour of PREMIER SUITES Reading which offers a great selection of specialty coffee and tea, home-made pastries, sandwiches and salads. You can enjoy some of their great homemade cakes and hot drinks knowing you are contributing to the community and supporting a local independent business. More, the warm, cosy atmosphere in the café will make you never want to leave!

 

PICNIC FOODS – 2 MIN WALK:

Picnic Foods is another independent café serving a range of Fairtrade teas and hot chocolate as well as juices, smoothies, sandwiches, soups and cakes is Picnic Foods. All of their food produce is locally sourced and made in-house where possible and it’s a great alternative to the many chain coffee shops and cafes taking over the high street. Try their Victoria Sponge for a real sweet treat!

NIBSY’S CAFÉ – 4 MINS WALK:

Reading’s number one café on Trip Advisor is also its first-ever exclusively gluten-free café. The café sells gluten-free cakes, sandwiches, quiche, wraps, salads and specially made to order tray bakes and cakes for special occasions too. All of their food is hand made on the premises and promises to cater to your special dietary requirement while ensuring they do not compromise on taste. They have both indoor and outdoor seating so on a sunny day you can enjoy an urban picnic.

SHED – 5-MINS WALK:

Described as Reading best-kept secret, Shed Café serves some of the most delicious sandwiches known to man! The bread is freshly baked daily, and every ingredient is fresh and tasty. Their soup and sandwich combo is a perfect filler for lunch and if you’re lucky enough to be there on a ‘saucy’ Friday, they do a delicious changeable hot pot. A super talented staff member, Megan, makes extra special personalised cakes for special occasions too.

PIERRE’S BAGUETTES – 8 MIN WALK:

This small, family-owned business located within the Harris Arcade in the town centre lives up to its name, serving freshly made baguettes filled to your liking while you wait. They not only offer great value on their food, but with the size of their portions mean you’re never left disappointed or hungry after lunch in Pierre’s. They also serve a variety of vegan-friendly food like veg-sausage rolls, flapjack, hummus, falafel etc. You can also rest easy knowing you are supporting a local business too.

WHITTINGTON’S TEA BARGE – 12 MIN WALK:

For a cafe with a really unique location, you can enjoy your tea break onboard the gorgeous Whittington’s Tea Barge, just 12 minutes’ walk from your accommodation in Reading. The extra-wide barge was converted in 2012 to imitate a traditional English Tea Room with a twist. They serve a variety of light lunches, followed by delicious homemade cakes and scones all with views of the River Kennet.
